 I Bleed Green

UVU students fight for school pride

“I am insanely proud to be a Wolverine.  Through and through, I bleed green,” Kamryn Wilson, a member of the UVU activities committee, said. She was not the only one that felt that way after the UVUSA meeting.

Many students turned out to support UVU and their fellow classmates as they discussed the many ways they have planned to help the school be a university students will be proud to call home.

At the UVUSA meeting held on March 28, 2019, Marc Reynolds, student body president, presented on his plans and efforts to turn the school green, from putting signs up in the doorways to painting more walls and railings green. Marc is determined to make sure UVU students are proud to call this their university.

Brecken Bearnson, a student at UVU, said after the meeting, “I think it is an excellent idea because if you go around UVU, you see people are wearing Utah shirts or BYU shirts.  It makes me wonder wait; don’t you go to UVU?”

Students love this school and are excited to jump in to help others realize how wonderful it is.

Andralee Allen, a sophomore at UVU studying psychology, said, “After sitting in on the meeting, I just wanted to get up and start helping. I've loved being at UVU and being in this meeting made me want to dive in deeper to be a part in making the difference between good and amazing here at the university!”

Reynolds finished his remarks by inviting students to get more involve with UVU whether that is joining student council, volunteering, or just attending events.

Wilson said, “Becoming a part of student council has made me realize just how much work goes into everything that happens on campus. From making sure the walls are green enough to changing the constitution and ratifying that and helping first generation students. So much work goes into this and it’s all for the students.  I think a lot of it is behind the scenes. Getting involved is the best thing you could do. I love being on student council!”
